The 4” Blade was forged from a ¾” W-1 bar and features a hamon and 2400 grit finish. The handle is ebony. The fittings are of two bar “W” Twist Pattern Damascus and have small accent grooves around them.

Here is my most recent knife. It is the second Sub-Hilt that I’ve made and has a forged 6 1/2″ blade of “Modified Starburst” Pattern Damascus.   The fittings are of “Explosion” Pattern Damascus with German Silver liners that have Vine and Thorn Pattern File-Work on them.   The handle is of Alaskan Mammoth Ivory.   I also made the sheath for this knife and it features an Alligator Tail Skin Insert.

My First Knife As A Journeyman Smith.

Here is the first knife I’ve made as a Journeyman Smith.   The handle is of Presentation Grade Fossil Mammoth Ivory.   The 10″  blade is forged from 1080 and 15N20 in six bar “Explosion” Pattern Damascus.   The fittings are of Damascus and German Silver for the liners.   The liners have “Vine and Thorn” Pattern File-work on them.   The overall length is 15″.

Sub-hilt Fighter SOLD $2,000

This was the last fixed blade knife I made before receiving my JS Stamp from the ABS.

It is a Sub-hilt fighter with a 11 5/8″ blade that has been forged from 1080 and 15N20 in ”Modified Star Burst” pattern damascus.   The handle if of Mammoth Ivory.   This is my first Sub-hilt knife.

The 9″ blade is forged from 5160. The handle is of Amber dyed Sambar Stag.   The fittings are German Silver with Rope Pattern File work. The blade has a 1500 grit finish on it.

JS Test Knife 3 of 5

This knife has a 12″ 5160 blade, German Silver fittings, African Blackwood handle and an overall length of 16 3/4″ long.   This is the second D-guard Bowie I’ve made.    I will be using it for one of my JS Test knives at the Blade Show coming up.

Here is the second knife I’ve just completed to use for one of my JS Test knives.
This knife has thirty pieces total, fourteen of them are internal line up pins.   The handle is set up in a frame style configuration.  The fittings are Silicon Bronze and German Silver.  The handle is made from Mammoth Ivory.  The 6 1/4″ blade is forged from 5160.   The overall length is 11″ long.     The German Silver Liners are 0.032 thick and have Star Burst Pattern File-work on them.

JS Test Knife 1 Of 5

Here is one of the five knives I am making for my Journeyman Smith Test.

This one is the simplest one that I’ll have and the next one will be the most complicated one I’ll make for the test.   The 5″ blade is forged from 5160.  The handle is made from Desert Ironwood.   The fittings are of German Silver.  The handle length is 4 1/2″.   The next one I am making is going to be a D-guard Bowie with a 12″ blade.   Then I’ll make one more bowie and two fighters of some sort.

Feathered Fighter

With this knife I won the Best Damascus award at the Little Rock Show, February 2009.

The 6 1/4″ blade is forged from 1080 and 15N20 in “W” Feather Pattern Damascus. 
The handle is Desert Ironwood. 
The fittings are “W” Feather Damascus and German Silver.
The overall length is 10 3/4″.

This knife Is forged from 1080 and 15N20 in “W” Feather Pattern Damascus.   This knife has a frame handle with all the fittings made out of “W” Feather Pattern Damascus.   The handle is of Fossil Mammoth Ivory from Alaska.   The pins are of German Silver.

Micro Fighter #47 SOLD $ 800.00

This knife is forged form 1084 and 15N20 in Complex Radial Pattern Damascus.   The blade is 5″ long and the handle is 4 5/8 ” long to give it an overall length of 9 5/8″ long.   The handle is of Mammoth Ivory.   The fittings are made of 250 layer Star Pattern Damascus and German Silver that has extensive filework in a Vine Pattern on it.   There is also an 18K Gold pin in the handle.

This is my first D-Guard Bowie, the 11″ blade is made of 720 layers of 1084 and 15N20 in Brush Fire Pattern Damascus. The handle is of Desert Ironwood. The fittings are of mild steel that has been salt blued to a black color, this is the first knife I’ve done to have salt blued fittings and this is also the longest blade I’ve done.    Click on the picture to enlarge it.

This is my second knife to have Damascus fittings.   The 6 3/4″ blade is made of 5,000 layers of 1084 and 15N20 in a “W” Feather Pattern, the guard and pommel are also made of “W” Feather Pattern Damascus.   The handle is made of Desert Ironwood.   This is my favorite blade/handle design.

“W” FEATHER PATTERN HUNTER #31 SOLD $400

This Feather Hunter was a custom order, the 4 3/4 inch blade is made out of 2,000 layers of 1084 and 15N20 in  “W” Feather Pattern Damascus.   The handle is made of Exhibition Grade Desert Ironwood.   The guard and pins are made of German Silver.   The overall length is 9 7/8 inches.   This is the first knife that I’ve made out of this complex pattern of Damascus.
